License Agreement — Simple Software Solutions

This agreement is between you and Simple Software Solutions. It covers games you buy directly from simple-software-solutions.com. Please read it before installing.

In short: the game is yours to keep and play on up to two of your own devices, forever. Don't share your key or resell the game. There's no warranty, and we're not liable for damages.

01 What you're buying

You are buying a license to use the software, not the software itself. Simple Software Solutions retains ownership of the game and everything in it.

Your license is perpetual. It does not expire, does not require a subscription, and does not need to be renewed.

In plain terms: you bought the right to play it for as long as you like. We still own the game itself.

02 How many devices

Your license key may be active on two devices at a time. These are meant to be devices you own or normally use — for example a desktop and a laptop.

If you replace a device, open Help › License in the game on the old one and choose Deactivate This PC. That frees the slot immediately for the new device.

If both devices are lost, broken, or wiped before you could deactivate them, you can release all slots yourself at the reset page linked in the game. This is limited to once every 90 days.

03 What you may not do

Share, publish, sell, rent, or give away your license key
Sell, rent, or redistribute the game itself
Modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to defeat the activation system
Remove or alter copyright notices
Use the game in a commercial setting (arcade, kiosk, or similar) without written permission

You may install the game on a second device you own, and you may make a personal backup copy of the installer.

04 Keep a backup

We strongly recommend you keep your own copy of two things: the installer file you downloaded, and your license key.

Save the key somewhere you will still be able to find it years from now — a printed copy, a password manager, or a file you back up. We cannot guarantee that this website, or any download link or email, will still exist in the distant future.

Why this matters: a game you have already activated will keep working on that device with no internet connection and no contact with our servers, indefinitely. But if you ever need to install it again, you will need the installer and your key. Keeping your own copies means you are never dependent on us.

05 Activation and privacy

When you activate, the game contacts our server once to check how many devices your key is on. It sends your license key and a one-way scrambled code derived from your device's hardware. It does not send your name, your email address, or anything about your computer that could identify you or its owner.

After activation, the game does not contact our servers again. It works entirely offline.

06 Refunds

If the game does not work on your system, contact us within 7 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.

Because the software is delivered digitally and cannot be returned, refunds outside that window are at our discretion. If you have a problem, write to us — we would rather fix it or refund you than have an unhappy customer.

07 No warranty

The software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will run on every possible hardware or software configuration.

08 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simple Software Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the software.

Our total liability under this agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

09 If this service ends

Our activation server is a convenience, not a requirement for continued play. If this website or the activation service is ever discontinued:

Games already activated will continue to work exactly as before
Games not yet activated will still activate, and will simply stop being limited to two devices
No action is required from you

The software has been deliberately designed so that it does not stop working if we stop operating.

10 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach this agreement — for example by publishing or selling your key, redistributing the game, or attempting to defeat the activation system. We may also cancel a license where the purchase was refunded, reversed, or made fraudulently.

What that means in practice. Cancelling a key stops it from being used to activate any further devices. It will no longer work for a new installation, a reinstallation, or a device reset.

Copies that are already activated will continue to run. The software does not check in with us after activation, so we have no way to switch off a copy already installed on your machine — and we have deliberately built it that way, so that an outage on our side can never stop a paying customer from playing.

If your license is terminated for breach, you are nonetheless required to stop using the software and remove it from your devices. Continuing to use it after termination is a breach of this agreement and of copyright law, whether or not the software continues to function.

In plain terms: if you share your key around or charge back your purchase, we can stop that key from activating anything new. We can’t reach into a computer and shut off a copy that’s already running — but you’d no longer have the right to use it.

11 Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

12 Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement for future releases. Changes do not apply retroactively to a license you have already purchased — the version in effect on the day you bought applies to that purchase.
